About the stones
A unique form of granite only found in Co. Donegal, North West Ireland and rarely seen in jewellery, we selected this stone for its small pattern size and stunning dappled monochrome shades. As far as we know, we are the only designer of Donegal Granite cufflinks
Tahiti oyster shell, also known as Black Mother of Pearl, comes from the black lipped Tahiti oyster and has beautiful variegated grey, olive and silvery iridescent hues. Tahiti Oyster cufflinks very versatile to pair as their soft grey colouring means they work with almost every shirt.
Tiger's eye is a beautiful golden to brown gemstone with undulating bands of colour through it. This variety, sourced in South Africa, has a silky, lustrous appearance. Tiger eye is most commonly cut into cabochons (rounds) but we loved how the banding shows when we cut the stones flat in our workshop. Tiger's Eye cufflinks pair well with autumn colour outfits or country attire.
Lapis Lazuli is perhaps the best known gemstone. A mineral prized by royalty and artists throughout history for its vibrant ultramarine colour. Most Lapis Lazuli is mined in Afghanistan, and it comes in many variations, sometimes including flecks of gold pyrite which make it resemble the starry night sky. We recommend pairing Lapis Lazuli cufflinks against white, blue or pink shirts.
Aventurine is a semi precious variety of quartz sourced in India. The name Aventurine derives from the Italian 'a Ventura' meaning by chance, an apt name for a stone considered to bring luck. Green is the most common colour of aventurine. We handpicked this dark green and variegated variety for it's unique hue and find it works especially well with autumn coloured outfits or against a white shirt.
