Our contemporary cufflinks are designed and handmade in our Northern Irish workshop. The Barrow cufflinks are double sided; with two oval cabochon cut stones set into a classic bezel setting in our unique A-frame link design. This link is cast out of a single piece of silver with no moving parts and is designed to be easy to put on and sit comfortably all day. All Alistair R silver cufflinks are hallmarked with the 925 Sterling Silver mark and our unique Alistair R makers mark. The oval cufflink face measures 12mm x 8mm.
About the stones
A unique form of granite only found in Co. Donegal, North West Ireland and rarely seen in jewellery, we selected this stone for its small pattern size and stunning dappled monochrome shades. As far as we know, we are the only designer of Donegal Granite cufflinks.
A classical jewellery material, mother of pearl is taken from the shell of the pearl oyster and we obtain ours from sustainable sources. Known for it’s creamy white iridescence it is an enduring and elegant material for cufflinks. Mother of pearl cufflinks are very versatile to pair with outfits, we find these work exceptionally well with black tie.
Carnelian is a semi translucent orange gemstone which has been much prized by jewellery makers since antiquity. It is known to have been used as beads by Early Neolithic peoples. We hand select our Carnelian for it's rich lustrous orange colour and love how this ancient stone looks so striking in a contemporary setting. While bright, Carnelian cufflinks are easy to pair; we recommend a classic blue or white shirt.
Brecciated Jasper is a form of chalcedony which has a maroon colour with bands of pink and white; its unique patterning resulting from the unequal distribution of different minerals in the stone. Believed by some to improve grounding and clarity of thought, we find these Brecciated jasper cufflinks pair well with navy suits and our Ffion liberty print tie
